2009 Energy Savings Tax Plan
Make it work for you in 2009. Up to $1,500 tax credit
Congress Provides New Replacement Window Incentives For Homeowners
The recently enacted American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, [Stimulus Bill], offers you incentives for improving your home’s energy efficiency. The tax credit in 2009 and 2010 for qualified energy efficiency improvements will increase to 30%. Example; if you purchase $5,000 worth of “qualifying” windows from Mission Contracting, you may get the maximum 30% tax credit of $1,500 - making the end cost of your windows only $3,500 after the tax credit.
Qualifying and Claiming the Tax Credit is simple
A “qualifying” window is one that carries a U-Factor equal to or less than 0.30 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) equal to or less than 0.30. More information on energy ratings and qualifying products can be found at the ENERGY STARĀ® website.
This is a great opportunity to upgrade your existing windows to energy efficient units. Save on heating and cooling bills, while taking advantage of the government tax credit.
